Economic and Investment Deputy of Qeshm Free Area Organization said the economic slowdown in the free areas is dangerous for the country's economy, adding: The Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Free Areas of the country will soon launch a plan for the allocation the Free Area Special Currency Line to the government, which will, by the time of the operationalization of the registration of import orders, eliminate the problems of the activists.
He also referred to government policy for liquefying economic activity in free areas and said: According to the suggestions made to the government, it is requested to allocate a special currency line to the extent of the need for each free area, for input of raw materials, and for the needs of the local community.
Abbasian continued: We are in consultation with government officials to help Qeshm's economic activists, who, before the government's announcement of the ban on imports of 1339 items of goods, has been importing various goods and storing them in warehouses.
He emphasized again that under the conditions of the boycott, the economic downturn and the tensions created in the foreign exchange market, the free areas could help the entire country, according to its own regulations, as follows: Fortunately, over the past few weeks, the investment in the petrochemical sector in Qeshm and the serious request of the foreign investor have entered a serious and final stage with regard to the allocation of gas requested by the Ministry of Oil.
Investments in the oil and petrochemicals sector were among other issues that Economic and Investment Deputy of Qeshm Free Area Organization emphasized, adding: Regarding the new regional conditions, the willingness to invest in the storage and bunkering area has been announced by foreign investors, which we hope to achieve in the coming months in a desirable manner.
He also announced the policy of increasing air travel to Qeshm with the aim of helping different sectors of the economy, and added: We agreed with several domestic airlines to increase flights to the island with the aim of reducing the price of tickets.
